Cantus Christmas Dayton Concert reviews
Odd song selection for the night... but good show.
The show was good, but not as memorable as others. Dave sounded depressed most of the night, even when talking to the audience between tunes. Instead of playing staple tunes like Ants Marching, Too Much, So Much to Say, Trippin' Billies, Crash, Two Step, they focused on slower tunes that lasted 10 mins or more, leaving no time for fan favorites like Don't Drink the Water and Lie in Our Graves. Boyd, on the other hand, had a fair to average show with a couple of squeaks and a need for more rosin on his bow. His solos were fairly average compared to Tim Reynolds'. The sound guy should have turned up the overhead mics for Carter's cymbals as they were barely audible for most of the night.
